Why don't they just screw off. her thoughts echoed through her head as she felt something sharp puncture a small hole in her arms. Slowly, but surely she was coming to, the doctor's however hadn't noticed, so Angel was free to eavesdrop on their hushed conversation while they continued hooking her up to unneeded machinery.
" From what the kids are saying, she started the fire over some guy her and that Alison one were fighting over." Said a voice coming from the nurse who once again persisted on sticking her with yet again another needle, this one though followed by a very nice comforting feeling.
" Oh yeah, well I heard from the authorities, this one's up for murder. Soon as she's done here....[/i] Said another voice, a deep one that reminded her of a frog croak.
She laid in her bed and listened intently on the continuing conversation, both voices wafting in and out due to the very effective medication. She tried to fight sleep, as one of the voices had mentioned ' that Adrian kid, ' as the two medical officials had reffered to him, was in the next room badly injured trying to save her.
Finally the doctor and his mousy nurse both began to leave the bright white hospital room which reminded Angel of a white prison cell. As the door closed Angel forced herself to a sitting position, her nose slightly wrinkled at the strong smell of hospital lingered her nose. Angel looked down at the needle in her arm, and then to the machine she was hooked into. With a slight pained expression, she looked away from the needle laying her head back to look at the ceiling, wishing now that she could see Adrian before she had to run again.

It was a sea of dark red, stretching to the horizon and the shrieking sun, and beyond. He stood on a cliff of blue rock, shaped by the fears and impotent curses of defeated enemies. His skin was white as porcelain and his eyes black like the darkest of nights, no other colours present. His lithe, athletic form was covered in black armour forged from boundless, quiet hate, a cloak woven of the shadows of the murdered weak hanging from his shoulders and stopping an inch above the ground. On his chest-plate, near his heart, was set a multi-coloured, sparkling gem, a crystallized mixture of rapture, euphoria and delirium. He smiled, a servant appearing from nowhere to appease his unspoken demand, Adrian's armoured hand elegantly snatching the goblets shaped from the gold of idle dreams and set with the amethyst of secret fears. He drank deep from mountain-mist wine. He was... content, at home.
Adrian blinked, seeing nothing but white. He tried to move and found himself restrained. Slowly panicking, he tried with all his strength to shift the bonds that held him in place, but to no avail. Just as he was about to loose himself someone, a doctor, walked into view. "Relax, Adrian, you're safe here. The straps are a temporary measure, I assure you." "Get them OFF OF ME!" If there was something Adrian could not stand, it was being bereft of control. Without it, he felt vulnerable, and he did not want to be vulnerable when foes were everywhere. "Now look, mr. Kreever, you have been secured to the bed because you have already severely injured four of our paramedics and damaged much medical equipment! You insurance will cover it, I am told, but I would rather have that no more damage came to my co-workers or this hospital's equipment."
Adrian stopped struggling and looked at the doctor, befuddled. "What?" "Yes, I expected that you wouldn't remember. Look, I'm sorry that I got a bit cross with you, it's not the first time it's happened. I'm told that you, during your ride in the ambulance, suddenly regained consciousness and began assaulting the paramedics. The driver was forced to pull over and attract the attention of a nearby guard patrol, who, thankfully, managed to subdue you. It's not uncommon in situations like yours, you've struggled tooth and nail to get to safety, and even when you are safe you're not always aware. Don't worry, the paramedics should be fine and, as I mentioned earlier, your insurance should cover the rest." "Is she okay?" "Sorry, who? Oh yes, of course. The young lady should be just fine in another day's time, though I think you should look for better company. You do know that she's being charged for murder, and that she was most likely the one who set fire to the school?" Adrian's eyes widened with disbelief, and the doctor sighed. "Look, I'm sorry, I shouldn't be telling you this, you need to rest. Your parents have been informed and are on the way. I left your assault on the paramedics out, I don't think they need to hear that." Adrian slumped back into his bed and stared at the ceiling. The doctor sighed again before walking around his bed and releasing Adrian's limbs from their constraints. There was no response. Before he left, the doctor carefully tried to speak again. "I don't know what it is between you and this Roman, but I suggest you sort it out between you and him. You were screaming his name all the way until the guards knocked you out. It's not healthy for someone your age to carry such a grudge." Then he left, feeling sad for the young boy.
Ten minutes after the doctor had left Adrian blinked and rolled out of bed. He moved slowly, deliberately, the clockwork was broken and he could not risk loosing control. Mum and dad were coming, but before he face them he needed to see someone else. He walked at a brisk pace out of the room, going by his nose and using his rage to suppress the pain from the broken ribs. He wandered by scent and slipped unseen and unnoticed into her room, obscuring his presence to their feeble minds. When they had gone he allowed himself to emerge, arms crossed and his face locked in a mix of disgust and disdain. "So..." He began, staring at the girl lying in the hospital bed. "Knock it off, Angel, it'll take more than that to fool me!" He was in the mood for answers, and had no intentions of leaving without them.

Angel looked up into Adrain's cold eyes, and then turned her head to look at the television wondering how much he might have already knew, after all there was some very interesting rumors going around.
Finally though, after seeing he wasn't going to leave without hearing her story she spoke, trying to keep her voice steady as she spoke. She told him about finally going home, which had been the biggest mistake of her life, she told him about how Skyler, who seemed to be too afraid to step out of line helped her hide from the guards while she escape.
" Then," She said, " To make matters worse, I had to sleep in the library that night." her head lowered as she thought of that not looking into Adrian's eyes, she was frightened. She told Adrian about waking up covered in her stalker's jacket, and then Alison's sudden attack on her.
" And now," she sighed, " Everyone here seems to think I'm some sort of killer." She said in a isn't that nice, sort of tone.

Adrian remained still and tried to listen, but it was hard. A thousand acidous remarks tore at his insides to be released, and keeping them in check long enough for her to finish her story was hard enough in itself. "Oh really? So you just happen to be charged with a crime that you have nothing to do with? Oh poor, poor you. What's the matter, can't you make the bodies go away anymore, or is there simply no more room for skeletons in your closet? If you're so upset with Roman, maybe you shouldn't have crawled into his bed to begin with!" It was rude and uncalled for, but right now all he could think of was wanting to see her suffer.
"And what, you decided that you didn't like the selection in the library so you burn it to the ground? What were you thinking?! Or maybe you don't think, that would probably be the best excuse for ending up fucking a DEMON! What, or did you just FORGET that they're here to KILL US ALL?! What, you thought maybe he'd spare you and keep you as his own little fuck-toy in his basement?" He found himself pacing back and forward, trying to keep himself from shouting. But he wanted to see her suffer, she had hurt him more than anyone ever had, save his original parents when they gave him up for adoption. And, unlike them, he had no sympathy for her actions and she was well within his reach.

She could feel something inside her wanting to come out , she tried to think it away as she sat here listening to Adrian's cruelty. Did he really think she wanted to sleep with Roman that night, or that she actually set the school library on fire. But what she wondered more was why he cared so much, if he had been so mad at her he should have just let her burn to death in the school fire.
He was right, perhaps following Roman up to the castle was the wrong thing to do, but he hadn't been there, he didn't see or feel the type of power Roman had. Nor had she felt did she, but there's was definitely not a demon to mess with, there had to be certain cautions set up there, and she really wasn't liking Adrian's attitude about the whole thing, she had told him what had happened, what was it to him, even if she did, which she didn't want to sleep with Roman?
She laid her head back quietly thinking to herself, trying to ignore the steady pacing back and forth Adrian was doing, listening to the click of his shoe hitting the white marble flooring, besides that the silence was deafening and unnerving, she wished he could go back to being less hostile towards her, " Look, I fucked up." It had been the first and only explaination that came to her very empty head at the moment, " I thought he would help me and I didn't know he was a demon until...." Her head dropped down again, she was about to say until they had sex, wrong thing to say, she didn't know why, but it was the wrong thing to say, " Look, for all it's worth, I didn't set the library on fire, that was Alison. I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt, especially you cause I...."
It had been hard to not finish her thought, but she forced herself to keep her mouth shut, as she watched the anger another feeling awoken inside of her, a feeling she had only felt once- emptiness, yeah that was it, she felt empty.

"Oh please, spare me." He spat, in no mood for her pseudo-romantic drama. "According to yourself Allison is wholly your creation, and therefore your responsibility. If you really cared about that, you would have put an end to it by now." Not that he knew how, but Adrian the people Adrian geniunely had not wanted to harm in his life could be counted on one had, the first two being his parents. Had he caught Allison, he would have cut her jugular without a moment's hesitation. And yet, now he didn't feel so sure now, looking at Angel. That lack of surity only angered him further.
"And how dare you play the victim in all of this, when you know very well that you're the cause of all of it!? You were careless enough to run your friend over, not looking where you were driving. You tampered with powers far beyond your control and brought back that, that abomination in what used to be your friend and then, then you go leap into bed with the first demon you come across hoping that he's going to maybe help you? WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!" He stopped pacing and cleared his throat, aware that he had raised his voice beyond optimal levels. Hopefully, no one would have heard.
His ribs protested violently at the involuntary muscle spasm, and Adrian found himself leaning against the wall whilst clutching his chest, panting. "Anyway." He let the anger surge to the surface to supress the pain, the one in the flesh as well as that below. "I need to get back to my room, my parents should be here soon. Why don't you just go take this up with your sugar-daddy, I'm sure he'll be happy to help you." He spat out the last sentence, glaring at her with disgust one more time before he turned to leave. He had wasted enough time as it was.

She watched him making his way out of the room, " What no more?" She asked, feeling the thing inside her trying to claw its way out of her like someone trying to dig out of their grave, she tried to fight it, telling the thing to leave, this was between her and Adrian, but it didn't want to listen, it wasn't going to listen.
As she lay there, the equipment in the room began to tremor, it was like a sudden small earthquake was hitting, Angel looked up in time to see the lights flickering as her anger rose, and watched the needles that were connected into her arms, painfully ejected out of her arm, as her i.v. slithered off her bed as though it was a snake.
The heart monitor, in which she had no idea why they had even bothered with, flat lined as she forced herself up off the bed, her power was out of control, as her energy was finally coming back, against her wishes it stood with it's arms folding against her chest.
Suddenly the thing left, she was back to normal, it was like a skitzo trip. She looked at Adrian startled for a moment, she had heard the guards coming, she needed to go, quickly. Angel used what energy she had to shatter the window at her will.
She looked back at Adrian one last time, " There, now you can go and tell everyone I tried to attack you." She said right before she plunged out the window.

Adrian, quite unlike himself, bit back a sharp comment at her mock question, he was leaving and he had no intention of being drawn back by her half-hearted challenge, but then things started happening. He felt the changes before his base senses picked up on them. Then the light began to flicker and objects began to move, and he turned, grinning wide, back to look at Angel. This was what he had wanted, all pretense of kindness gone, leaving only the savagery his heart now demanded. He wanted to fight her, to wash away that weakness she had stained upon his soul in a torrent of his and he blood combined. It hurt, bad, and he knew only one way to deal with pain.
"Come on!" He roared, taking a defensive position and waving her forward, his eyes changing along with hers. "Bring it!" His heart was pounding away in excitement, overshadowing the wound that lay deeper. He wasn't sure what he was up against, or whether or not he would survive the ordeal, but that later was his least concern. But just as quickly as it had begun, it stopped again. The objects became inert once more and the lights stopped flickering. Adrian looked around himself, anxious to find where the next threat would come from, but there was none. He returned his eyes to hers, preparing to rush her and end the conflict, but what he saw made him stop. The window shattered, people were coming and then she was gone.
"There, now you can go and tell everyone I tried to attack you."
That was the last thing she had said to him, but it wasn't what should have happened, none of it was. All hostility waned from his mind and his arms fell limp by his sides. He wasn't supposed to have sought her out like, he wasn't meant to have said those awful things. He had wanted to hurt her, to push her away but now when she was gone, he felt worse than before. The guards broke the door down and found Adrian on his knees, staring into space with an empty look in his eyes. His attempt to cut ou the pain had failed miserably, and now he did not know what to do.
