((OOC: Damon posts first, after that its open for anyone else to join))
It was quiet in the park tonight, nothing out of the ordinary Akeelah found while she was doing her nightly patrol. It was what she came to expect of course, not a lot of activity happened in this part of town. It wasn’t uncommon for some less than human scum to be roaming about in this place but it did not happen often. She couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed though. Not like it was a bad thing that there weren’t any demons around, that meant that she was doing her job well but lately she had this itching for a good fight.
She wasn’t sure why but lately she had been feeling restless, perhaps it was thanks to her previous encounters with Liam that was the cause of this restless feeling. Twice she had fought with that monster and couldn’t kill him. The first time she had lost, and the second time he had ran off. The second encounter wasn’t much of a battle anyway, even if Liam hadn’t left first she would’ve ran off instead, as it stood now she couldn’t defeat him.
And that was what bugged her the most, she wasn’t strong enough yet to carry out her vengeance and she didn’t like it. Akeelah tried her best not to think about that by focusing her attention on her training and hunting duties but from time to time her mind unconsciously drifted back to those thoughts, like how it did now.
Akeelah sighed and kept on walking, making her way to the wooded area of the park. She needed to get out of this place and look elsewhere for something to kill. As soon as she was done here she could try the streets, it might bring her better luck. Better finish my patrol quickly thenshe thought, the sooner she could finish scanning about here the better.
*twig snap*
Akeelah stopped moving, straining her ears to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. From the sound of it something was moving about in the woods, the question was what was it? “Who’s there?” she called out, her hand already moving to pull out a knife. She couldn’t just attack without knowing what she was dealing with first, if it was just a civilian roaming about she didn’t want to hurt them. But if it wasn’t she would hesitate to kill it.

*Stalkystalkystalky*
Dammit, Damon hated hunting animals. He hated hunting anything. He really wasn't the demon his father had hoped he would be. To start, the boy hated drinking from humans. It was so... Inhumane. Dirty. Disgusting. You had no idea where those bags of blood had been, what they'd eaten or drank, injected-- Nothing! They could be carrying sick, sick diseases. And just... It was dangerous. The last thing Damon wanted was to accidentally kill someone.
So for the most part, he hunted animals, which was also really gross, really disgusting, but slightly less so dangerous than drinking live human blood (although there were quite a few animals that could really take a chunk out of him... Like bears. America's number one enemy, the dirty things). He'd also never tested the lore of dead man's blood and whether it pertained to demons of his sort, but at this point, he didn't really care. He'd take live animal blood over dead human blood any day.
Now the problem was, there wasn't much in this forest. Or at least, he was in the wrong part of it to find any big game, and instead he was left with rabbits. DX He didn't wanna hunt rabbits TT.TT Kill bugs bunny... But if he didn't eat something, he'd be in a frenzy pretty soon and then everyone was fair game and he wouldn't be able to stop himself until he was full, and that was the last thing he wanted. The last time he'd gone more then a couple days, he'd taken out a small store full of people. It hadn't been pretty and he didn't wish to repeat the ordeal.
*stalkystalkystalky-- CRACK*
The sound tore through the empty area like a gunshot. Damon froze, every muscle in his body locking and his gaze dropped down to the twig he'd stepped on. Now how the hell had he managed that? Enhanced vision meant he was pretty good for seeing things, even in the dark, but that... That was just embarrassing. Really? A twig would be his downfall?
When he glanced back up, the rabbit was gone. He growled low in annoyance, fangs bared at the spot where the little animal had been, as though it should have been climbing into Damon's mouth to be fed off of. Completely black eyes scanned the area, ears perked as though hoping to pick up where the damn thing had gone, but instead...
“Who’s there?”
Damon straightened, fought off the urge to throw himself at the (obvious) female. Ya. He really did need to eat, if he was getting those sort of urges already. He closed his eyes, breathed deep to calm himself and ran his hands through his wild hair. Well then. Let's go find out what sort of helpless prey woman would be roaming a forest at this time of night. Going to her probably wouldn't be his best idea, but hell, if they were stupid enough to be here, they deserved to die, right?
Damon dematerialized back the way he had come. It was easy with his heightened hearing to tell that the girl was behind him, and not that far off. He had to wonder how the hell he'd missed the sound of someone roaming the forest, but he could easily blame that on being young engrossed in catching a bunny. The phase had put him off to her side about a dozen feet and he stepped from behind the trees to approach her.
And oh, she was a pretty thing, wasn't she? He caught the glint of the knife, knew immediately that this was no ordinary girl and he should probably approach with caution, but the opportunity for some excitement, some blood was just too irresistible. He made no attempt to hide the glint of fang as he smiled, made no attempt to calm himself to change his eyes back. Oh no. Let her guess at what he was. Let her try.
Besides the fangs and eyes, he appeared to be pretty much normal. Jeans, a t-shirt, scuffed running shoes. The hair gave most people pause, but meh. He stepped closer, scratched thoughtfully at his chin and gave her a once over (making no move to hide his presence), pausing just outside of her reach (because he wasn't stupid). "The forest is dangerous, especially for those who think themselves prepared." The words, threatening at something darker, were followed by a dark chuckle, before he turned his gaze away to sweep along the trees. "You, dear, are scaring away the animals. Shouldn't you be in your bed? Or the kitchen?" Oh yeah... He went there.

She was greeted with silence, which from the young hunter's perspective was never a good sign. Most humans would have answered her by now (unless they were up to something). Since she had no doubt in her mind that she did hear something that left only two possible options. That the source of the noise was either an animal or something much worse. Well if it won't come to me then I'll just have to come to it. She thought, blade unsheathed, Akeelah took a step forward in the direction she had heard the sound coming from when she spotted him.
At first she did not know what to think about this stranger. He looked weird, crazy hair and all. On first glance she couldn't even tell what gender he was. Some of his features looked feminine but that didn't quite fit either. But beyond that he looked fairly human. But that was not enough to make her let her guard down. If any of her past fights taught her anything it was that not everyone that looked human actually were human. Still though she did not have enough proof that this boy was not normal. That was, until she saw his fangs. His dark smile helped to confirm her suspicions. Well, looked like Akeelah would get her wish after all. Instinctively Akeelah went on the defensive as the creature approached her, glaring coldly at him while he studied her.
His threat was met with a low growl, it really did not take much to get the girl riled up and already this creature was pissing her off. But she wouldn't let that anger cloud her judgment, it wasn't easy to kill a demon, especially those that wore a human disguise, their kind always seemed to be unusually strong. There was more to worry about from this creature than his insults.
"Looks like you are the one better suited to the kitchen lifestyle," she said, giving him a once over as well. "Not to bad for a cross dresser, maybe should exchange makeup tips? I love what you did with your hair." two could play the insult game. Maybe she could piss him off enough to make him strike first. Mad opponents were a bit unpredictable in a fight but they tend to lower their guard more, which would give her the edge in the long run. If he didn't attack though she would just have to hit him first. Either ways she would kill him tonight.
