What's a huskey? " Yeah, a huskey, that's the kind of dog." He said still eyeing Angel and trying to get a clear reading of Adrian's mind, which he was finding very difficult at the moment. " It's a very large dog."
Roman had to admit he was becoming rather irritated, I wonder what he makes of that. he thought as he tried to read his mind some more, and then a smile curved upon his lips as Angel's mind became full of fear again, something was bothering the poor girl, something to do with a man. " So what did you two do this weekend?" He asked, hoping he was seeming a little more human. " Anything interesting?"
Flashes of a man being torn apart by a very powerful looking demon ran through Angel's mind, I see, Liam and Tiffany will be very pleased with this. He thought, " You seem tired." Roman noted looking at the paleness of the girl's face.

"Really? That's odd, the huskeys are a very domestic breed, they very rarely wander farther from their homes that they can see. Something must be... off." Something was, not just the scent anymore but the dynamic between these two people was weird, weird in a sense that stirred his urge to reach out and hurt the guy, but he controlled it. You're stronger than that, he reminded himself, brushing off an annoying buzzing sensation in his head like he did all things that strayed from their place in there.
The guy's next question was, in its own right, not all that misplaced, but there was something in his tone, like the socially inept geek who tried so desperately to fit in. Was that what he was trying to do? He was focusing on Angel, not unusual for kids his age, but the way she almost seemed to cower before him... he needed to do something. "Yeah well, not all of our subjects are as interesting as we could hope." He interjected, taking a step to position himself between them. Not very subtle, but more subtle than what he wanted to do, a lot more subtle. He was angry. "Speaking of which, I think we need back to class, I think break's allready been over for a couple of minutes and, like I said, some teachers are easy to upset with this sort of thing. "What do you say Angel, should we head back." His smile was controlled and polite, his eyes as well, but inside... inside it was carnage...

" Yeah," Angel muttered, wishing more that she could go out for that cigarette, she was feeling very tense, especially now that she knew that Roman had let Alison get away, she should have known better than to trust a demon. " If I see the her, I'll tell bring her up to you, you may want to keep her on a leash this time though." She said through gritted teeth as she continued to keep her stare off to the side, making a careful effort not to look Roman in this eyes. The last thing she needed was to have him do some of his- whatever it was called, with his eyes again.
" You should probably go look for that dog now." Angel said quietly, " You don't want her to get hurt." She pulled Adrian by the arm, " C'mon," She said still not looking at Roman, " We gotta get to class."

Roman looked at both Angel and Adrian with a smug grin, his eyes had an almost evil looking glow in them, " I'll see you around sometime." He said as if this was certain, " Do yourself a favor though honey, don't go around trusting every demon you meet." He chuckled as he turned his back towards the two high school kids in the hall and lifted a hand waving to him as he slowly but steadily walked out of the school.
He felt it was now time to pay someone he had been watching very closely a visit.

Adrian met the smug grin with his practiced polite smile, but he longed to wipe that grin off him, and take the rest of the face with it now that he was at it. He never forgot a face, a weakness or a threat. "Naturally." Was his only reply to the smug goodbye, forcing himself to keep his hands open and un-clenched. The cockroach walked past them and Adrian would have heaved a sigh of relief had he had time. But he did not.
"Do yourself a favor though honey, don't go around trusting every demon you meet."
He quite literally bit down on his tongue to avoid spitting out a remark that might potentially ignite the whole situation. He did not want Angel to see him when he was not in control, it was an ugly sight beyond compare. "Let us know if you need help catching that... dog, was it? Why don't you give me the number to your cellphone and I'll call you if I hear anything? Or perhaps I should come by in person instead?" He had not bitten hard enough. "Do take care." He turned and waved with a smile that no longer quite covered what he sought to hide, the maniacal grin stretching across his face like a hideous scar.
Assuming that the bug left, he would turn to Angel slowly, the look in his eyes growing somewhat cold. "Well, that was... educational." He didn't need his scent to make out what had transpired between them, it showed clearly in body language. A small part of Adrian found itself wishing that it didn't know this, that that was the one chapter he had skipped in his home studies. "I guess I should have introduced myself. So, tell me about this dog. And please, don't insut my intelligence." He felt cold anger rise inside, taking away that warm softness. Her next words could decide which would win the struggle.

Angel breathed deeply, she couldn't decide if this was time for the truth or if this was something she should just keep to herself, all she knew was that if Alison was out and about the world would be safer with the demons running about.
Angel went with the truth, " It's Alison." She started, " My best... Well what used to be my best friend, I was at the Love Planet, and well... " She was going to say things didn't go well, but that seemed like an understated fact, " We got into a fight. " She looked at Adrian, " She's like I am, so we fought, I ended up knocking her out and well, Roman...." The more she thought about it, the more she wondered what Roman was even doing there to begin with, in fact why was Roman always around her. She shook her head and then went on with her story, " So then Roman helped me by taking her back to the castle....."
She thought of the castle, and then thought of that dreamlike image of what had happened in the castle, tears were coming to her eyes as she thought of the power Roman had used on her, it was almost as if she was slipped some kind of a drug and when she finally came to it was too late to take it back. " He..." She was looking at the wall behind Adrian, " I... I gotta go." She said suddenly and walked past Adrian feeling slightly shaken.

Well, at least she sounded honest even if what she said wasn't all that informative. She had dodged the subject of just what it was with her a few times already, and though Adrian had accepted it then, when it had only been her, now that he saw himself fighting against one of similar nature what little he knew was insufficient. She tried to walk by him, his empty hand reaching out and grabbing her by the arm, halting her. "Not good enough." He growled, staring past her into the wall behind.
"First, you're going to tell me what it is with you and this friend of yours. If I'm going to end up fighting it, I need to know what the hell it is I'm up against. Second," he turned to face her, trying to catch her gaze "you're going to tell me what that guy is, and what he did". Of course, he had an idea already, but there was something in her way of body-language that he wasn't quite sure what meant. He could make out the shame, or what he assumed to be shame, but not quite what it was she was ashamed off. At the same time he tried to shake the feeling of the warmth and softness of her skin against his own, where he held her arm. Now was not the place, nor the time.
Adrian knew that he was good at reading people's reactions, very good, but he also knew that, right now, his judgement could well be coloured by his desire to hurt someone and the arrogance of the cockroach who had just crawled out of there. But if he was right, and if he had been a prayer-person he would have prayed that he was not, someone was going to get hurt. Perhaps, more than just one.

Angel felt the hard grasp of Adrian's hand against her skin, " Alison is my responsibility." She said shaking her head, " She wouldn't of been here if I hadn't." She looked deeply into Adrian's eyes, she was going to sound insane in an instants moment but what she was about to speak was truth. " I made Alison." She started, " By killing her and then bringing her back to life, I didn't mean to kill her at the time though. She had ran out in front of my car, crying about something and I didn't see her until last minute." Her eyes shifted off to the side, she probably should've let her die there, it had after all been an accident, " So I dragged her into my car and I did a spell to bring her back to life, when I did that, I guess she inherited whatever I have wrong with me."
Angel took a deep breath, now for the hard part, Roman. She stood in front of Adrian, not looking at him, she wasn't sure if she wanted him to know, but she wasn't going to not tell him.
First Angel told Adrian in more detail about her first meeting with Roman, " It's like he's everywhere." She said, her voice with no life in it. " He shows up nearly everywhere I go, it's creepy. " Angel then told Adrian about the powers Roman used, how he was a fire based demon, and he had a strange hypnotizing power with just using his eyes. " That's how we.... " She didn't want to say it, saying it made if feel real to her, but she had no other choice, Adrian was here waiting for an answer, she began crying more heavily now, but calmed down enough to look at Adrian's face, " That's how we ended up sleeping together." She said to him, wishing instantly she could take it back. " Now, can I go?" She asked him hesitantly needing to leave this place.

Adrian nodded, weird as that sounded it had to be true, she had nothing to gain from lying about something in such a grandiose manner. Again, she dodge the question and Adrian was beginning to feel increasingly annoyed about that. She had to be either very ashamed about it or just as frightened of his reaction, but after she had told him of that guy before and exactly what he had meant he would make it clear that he would not back down until he got his answers. She told him of the bug, how he was actually some old fire demon with grand powers. Adrian snorted at the sounds of mind control, he had never believed that to be a serious threat to him, it was all a matter of strength of character. He felt something inside him fall and break like a ming-vase as she told him just what had happened.
" Now, can I go?"
He felt himself shake, his legs grew weak and his hand fall from her arm unbidden, as though it had lost all strength. He felt as though he had lost his balance and stumbled backward, his styrofoam cup clattering to the floor and spilling its contents as he stumbled into the wall behind him, hands rising to hold his head, hiding his eyes. She had... what? I told you so, Shut up... I told you so, Leave me alone! I tol- "Just go." He said, his voice shaky. "Just get out of my sight." His voice grew weary, distant. He needed to be alone.

Angel looked at Adrian with a sadness like she had never felt before, she tried to say somethig, anything, but words failed her as she thought about the morning after she had fallen asleep against his arm. " I'm sorry." She said in a weak voice, " And as for Alison, I don't know what she is, when I don't even know what I am."
Angel, still not able to look at him, turned away from Adrian, she'd probably just go home, try and forget about this and get on with her life.
At one point, she though her and Adrian would be more than friends, that she finally felt like someone who understood her, and she hoped that maybe once he calmed down there would still be hope for them.

She said something, but he didn't hear it. All he heard was blood rushing through his veins and the dull beating of his heart, seeming to go slower and slower. And he felt anger, rising out of his stomach like a black tidal wave of bile trapped in slowmotion. He slid down the wall untill he could hug his knees, and he just sat there, motionless, for what seemed like forever. When he looked up, she was gone, and he was glad. He rose and walked back to class, he was allready late for much. He sat down at his seat with a fixed smile on his face, remaining calm, awake and focused for the rest of school, walking home in a steady ace afterwards, that smile still fixed. He passed some young men, about his own age, and heard them speak.
"Oh yeah mate, fucked her lights out. She had it coming I tell you."
And that was all it took. Six seconds later Adrian stood panting with bloodied knuckles, his face twisted in a grimace of pure hate, over four young men his own age, so severely beaten that, though consciouss, they could not move or talk. Then he turned around and walked home. He still had his homework to get done.
