Yawning loudly, Adrian stepped onto school grounds. Last night had been late, but also fully worth it. He was really beginning to like the new looks of this world, demons and what-not everywhere for him to vent on, less people to keep tabs on and still he could go to school and study. If only he didn't have to hide his nightly activities it would be a perfect world, but he had made that decision long ago, and he was not going to tell his parents of his extra-legal activities now. Sweeping a strand of his black hair behind his ear and sweeping the grouns with a pair of inquisitive, bluish-purple eyes he concuded that the placewas safe, for now. He wore a black hoodie with the hood down, a pair of carpenter's trousers and a pair of safety shoes just incase he needed to put someone down. In this new world, there were still bullies who needed to be taken down from their self-appointed pedestals. He held no pity for them, strength was not an inborn characteristic or a result of environment, it was a choice, pure and simple.
First lesson of the day was... English! "Looovely." He groaned to himself, grimacing. He had taken a hard knock on the head last night whilst cleaning out a hive of drug-trafficking gangbangers, he had made a mistake and over-reached. He had still stood the lone survivor of the bout, but this head-ache would probably last the rest of the day, and he was too proud for painkillers. They were a tool for the weak to forget their flaws, and he would not let such weakness infect him. Stepping into the clas room and taking a seat down back, he lay down his head on his folded arms and soon his snore, like the sound of a sleeping cat, filled the locale. He was early, as he was most of the time, and right now he intended to get what little sleep he could before his attention was required by the teacher, Ms Jane Briggs. Adrian liked her, she was young, energetic and seemed to believe in her work, but like all others he kept her at a distance. She wouldn't understand, no one did. Though, there had been one who'd... and then he was asleep.

Rupert entered the school where he would now be working and spending most of his time, he stopped at the hallway for a moment and looked around.
Certainly this school wasn't as perstige as some of the schools he had been to, however it was a school none the less, and it was a job that would be able to pay him enough money to be able to afford somewhere other than a cheap motel, he thought as he walked down the hall.
Rupert looked into the classrooms as he passed and peered into the English class where he spotted Adrian who had fallen asleep, that was when he realized he had no clue where the school library was even located, after all they didn't give a map of this school like they had in others so he knocked on the door of the classroom.
" Excuse me." He said feeling the student's eyes all upon him where he gave a nervous chuckle, " Sorry to interupt, but where's the library?" He asked watching as the slumbering boy stirred a little as he spoke, " Perhaps you can have sleeping beauty there show me the way?" He pointed to Adrian, " Give him some time to stretch his feet."

Adrian had briefly woken up when Ms Briggs had entered class, but not long after he had slumbered off again, the middle-aged gentleman having commented before Ms Briggs had had a chance to wake him up again. A few of the students giggled at what Mr McCoy had said, though it took a while for someone to actually try to wake him up. When it had proven useless to throw small objects at him another student decided to try a moe direct approach, walking over to Adrian and grabbing his shoulder. "Dude, DUDE! You fell alseep again!" This was not a boy Adrian had a problem with, but being awakened in such a rude fashion could only have one effect. Within a split second the boy's arm was twisted behind his back and Adrian's fist was lifted high before he came to his senses.
Well, isn't this just lovely. The boy, Ryan, had palced them both in an unpleasant predicament, one that Adrian decided was best diffused with humor. "There there, good boy." Adrian smiled and petted the top of Ryan's head with his free hand. He released his grip and quickly scanned his surroundings to find a good deal of attention directed towards him, but the aging man in the door was the anomoly. "Right, yes, of course." He remembered hearing something about a library in his state of half-sleep. "Excuse me, class." He quickly left the classroom and gestured for the man he presumed t obe another teacher, to follow him. "Right this way, sir." He'd spent a good deal of his spare time there, sifting through the many books in search of valuable knowledge. "There you go, sir." He smiled and indicated the door labeled 'Library' with a gesture of his hand. "Anything else I can do you for you, sir?"

Rupert looked at the young man who stood before him and smiled, this town was full of violence, it seemed that this violent surge was passed down to the younger ones as well.
" No, that would be all young man, thank you." He said pulling out large books from his more private collection, books on demonology, and magic, stuff that the parents wouldn't want on their kid's library shelves.
Nervously he eyed Adrian and shoved the books out of site before he was able to view them. He smiled at him, " Unless you wanted to put some of the books away." He offered him an alternative other than going back to class, " I mean, I do understand you are finding the classes very interesting and whatnot...."

Adrian nodded and would have turned around and walked back to class had he not notice where the teacher had been heading. He was moving towards the books that had been locked away in the glass cubboard, the ones Adrian had no legal access to. Of course, he could have broken the glas and stolen them, but he had a feeling that the glass wasn't the only obstacle. He watched as the teacher pulled one out, then shove it right back as though he could feel Adrian's peaking interest. Adrian sighed inwardly and was on his way to leave when the teacher offered him an alternative, complemented by a little taste of irony. "Well uhh, yeah sure." He hated missing class, but if he had the oppurtunity to learn these books' new resting place, or maybe even sneak a peek in one, that would be worth so much more.
"So, uhh... We're we taking them?" There was knowledge in those books, and knowledge was power. He knew little of demons, most of them were weak as it were and easy to kill, but he needed to know their weaknesses should he find himself in an unprecedented situation. His kukri had proven efficient at dismembering them and thus reducing the threat they posed, but he knew he couldn't rely on that, you never knew when you would be at a disadvantage. "Sir." He quickly added, only half-acting the nerves. Those books held a lot of power for him to absorb.

" Just over there on the shelves Adrian. Thank you." Rupert said sifting through the pile of books he was getting ready to have Adrian place in the large shelves, checking at the last minute that none of the ilegal books were put up onto the shelf.
" And after you're done of that let me know, I'll write a letter to your teacher letting her know it was me that kept you." He said as he put away another large pile of books being sure to keep them secure.

Grunt work? Oh well... The titles were interesting enough, but he didn't get a chance to read them. At least, he hoped to have gained a few brownie points now that, added with other little favors in the future, might at one stage allow him access to these works. Lugging back and forth, picking books up and shifting them onto the other shelves, he wondered about this new teacher. Perhaps he was merely hired as a librarian, but his attitude and poise showed so much more. Things were easily more interesting now when the world was overrun by demons.
"There." He said after a while, feeling endorphines in his blood and his body waking. He shouldn't have a hard time staying awake for class now. "That's all of them, sir." There were a good few reasons he persisted in calling the teacher 'sir'. First, a show of respect, second to make people think he was hidebound and third to eventually annoy their names out of them without having to ask. The later was easily avoided in most cases by simply asking, but it was more fun not to work at it directly. "I'll be heading back to class now, sir, if there isn't anything else?" He didn't believe that he had missed much, and besides he had done his homework so he had a decent idea of the subject in question. Still, missing out on the discussions and the deeper explanation by Ms Briggs could prove damaging for the finals.

Rupert smiled at Adrian, He seems much brighter now. he said smoothing out his tweed jacket and then taking his glasses off rubbing them clean.
He then rushed over to his desk and found a stack of paper and using a black inked fine point pen he wrote in his lacey handwriting the note he promised Adrian to get back into class. " Tell your teacher I said thank you for sending you with me." He smiled politely taking a deep breath as he looked around the place where he intended spending most of his time. " Try to stay awake this time then?" He said as he turned and pulled out one of his larger books and began reading the crisp white pages.

"I'm sure she'll be glad to hear." Adrian smiled as he accepted the note, he could make a quick stop by the cafeteria for some coffee before class, for when the his body calmed down and his lack of sleep caught up with him again. "Thank you, sir." His basic ruse hadn't worked, but he would find the guy's name soon enough now when Ms Briggs knew he had been helping him. He would ask her at some stage. "A good day to you, sir." He turned around and was about to leave when he heard the teacher's snarky comment. He paused, fearing the briefest ember of rage flare. But that was his own shortcoming, not the teacher's.
"Of course, sir, I shall remain awake. I've just had trouble sleeping lately, with the demons out at night and all." Somebody needs to hunt the suckers down, he thought for himself. "Well then, I guess I'll see you around then, sir. Do enjoy your day in the library." It wasn't the most creative come-back, if it qualified as a come-back at all, but he had felt the need to say something. He gave an absent-minded wave as he walked towards the cafeteria, sure their paths would cross again. After all, he wanted those damned books!

All this energy. The rather out of place Roman Delowski thought as he stopped in front of the school, All going to waste because the silly humans feel like learning.
He was here only for two things, one was to see if he could find that git Alison and take her back to his castle up on Mallet Island, which somehow through his distractions he had allow her to disappear, and the other was because of this strange human device of Angel's that kept going off in his pocket every couple of minutes.
Roman took a deep breath and sighed as he pulled open the school doors and entered the school, he chuckled as he saw a pair of girls giggling as they blushed and walked past him in the hallway obviously skipping class, I'm almost ten times your age. he thought checking out his rather good looking reflection dressed in it's usual white tank and long black leather jacket in a trophy cabinet?
Roman shrugged, he just wanted one thing and that was to obtain Alison, and give this ruddy contraption to Angel before it drove him mad.

Walking away from the cafeteria with a styrofoam cup filled with scolding hot coffee, Adrian felt a sudden spike of... something inside. Like two whetstones grinding against each other. He wanted blood, and lots of it. He would be punching mirrors later today, that always took the edge off, that and walls, but though he wanted to do it now he did not want to get caught with bleeding knuckles. Those question he did not want to answer.
Taking a sip of his coffee, laced with enough sugar to power a small boat and about as much milk, he rounded a corner and barely avoided bumping into someone going the other way. "My bad." He smiled, wanting to reduce the man's face to a mess of blood and bone for no other reason than that he could. "I'm just no quite awake today." He had spent his life masquerading as something he was not, and this was far from a challenge for him, to suppress his desire to kill. It was a full-time vocation. "Errh, your phone seems to be ringing." He indicated the noisy, vibrating piece of junk in the man's pocket with a casual indication of his hand. "You might want to turn it off, the teachers here can be pretty anal about that sort of thing." Something... off, something was off about him. He did not smell right, and that could be very, very bad. Then again, had he not just wished for someone to pound?

Angel wasn't much in the mood for class at the present time, after all, her english was perfectly fine, why have it as a subject when she could be learning something useful like, well like something useful.
She thought about her and Adrian's encounter with the demon at the Cathedral, making her very on edge, especially when they got to school the following Monday she had overheard the man's son worrying to his friends that his dad hasn't come home. " Great," And thought outloud as she raised her head and her eyes spotted a very out of place odd looking scene. ; Adrian and.... Oh god, Roman?.
She pulled her sweater tighter around her, she had wanted to sneak outside for a quick puff of her ciggarette before going back to class, but now it seemed it was time for damage control, as Roman probably wouldn't know how to handle a very human situations in a school full of school kids, so slowly she began walking up to the two guys, hearing a very familiar song, Blah, blah, blah...., Angel recognized right away the ringtune from her phone. Great.

" Uhh, yeah." Roman said as he pulled the cell phone out of his pocket, " It's been going off like crazy since...." His voice trailed off at the site of Angel walking slowly down the hallway towards them. Roman gave a little smirk which slowly faded away as he was listening into her thoughts, Well that's gonna need to change. He thought bitterly looking from Adrian to Angel suspiciously.
Finally once the girl approached them he passed th annoying cell to it's proper owner, still looking suspiciously at the two of them.
" So, ummm...." Roman started, trying to think of what to say so that only her and himself understood, " The dog escaped." He said while he thought, Well this is definately something that has got to stop before it goes to far.
He could feel his jaw tightening as he continued standing there with his arms now folded across his broad chest.

There was something very wrong with someone who carried a cellphone around and didn't know how to at least shut off the damned sound, or perhaps he was only thinking that because of the mood he was in. Then Angel turned up and, after a few moments, everything made more sense. So it had been her phone? That still didn't explain how someone in the modern world would not know how to operate it. Adrian was by no means a fan of technology, he only used the most basic functions of his own phone, he loathed guns and avoided computers whenever he could, but even he knew how to turn a cellphone off. Then some more words wer exchanged, something about a run away pet. Now, that all sounded perfectly feasible, but his body language and hesitation gave him up. Something's not right with you, son, and I'm gonna find out what it is.
"Hey Angel, did I miss much in class?" He hadn't been for more than half an hour, probably less, but that was a lot of time when it came to teaching. He knew he should be getting back, but the thought of leaving now... his instincts told him not to. His instincts also told him to snap the guy's neck now that his side was turned, but that was perfectly normal for him. "That's funny." He said, grinning as he took a sip of his coffee. "I hadn't pegged either of you down for dog people. What kind is it?" He knew a little of dogs, it was useful when you had to break into someone's house. Not that he expected to be given an honest answer.

Angel accepted the cell phone from Roman's overly warm hand, she wondered for a moment what Roman had met by dog? Then she looked very seriously, " Our , dog, our very big Huskey dog." She said trying hard not to look into Roman's big blue eyes as she knew what he could do when he looked at a person.
" Thanks for the cell again." She said keeping her stare fixed to the floor, " I was going absolutely insane without it." Angel chuckled as the phone began to ring again. She lifted it up to show Roman where the power button was " See." She said knowing that as a very old and ancient demon he probably didn't have much of a knack with that type of thing.
It was a very awkward silence for a moment, between her and him, what was she supposed to say? Thanks for putting me under some kind of spell, really enjoyed it but.... That would be a bridge she would have to cross when she reached it.
