Raven smiled as she tugged her hair up on top of her head into a slick ponytail, the late summer air still held a soft breeze which whispered gently through the trees. Bending a moment to tie off her sneaker lace she looked off from her position at the edge of the forest, into the trees. Nothing seemed to be stirring at this point though she was sure there were plenty of creatures around if she looked hard enough. The soft teal Lycra shorts and matching sports vest gave away her intentions, Raven was minded on a run through the forest.
Having never been one to be caught unawares she packed the usual assortment of goodies into a pouch she slung around her shoulders, along with some cash and a new toy she had picked up and was aching to try out some time. The blade was pure silver, at least that's what the guy peddling it had told her.
Straightening she tugged the headphones from the pocket at the back of her shorts and without looking hit play on the little device, it was better to run without but she never really got into a rhythm without her music. Setting off into the woods she found the path was littered with bits of tree and various debris, Ravens full attention was focused watching her step cautiously so as not to trip and sprain her ankle like some horror movie victim.

Liam pulled his cigarette out of it's pack. He was running low and would soon have to pick some up somewhere soon. He lit the end of the smoke with a flame which sprouted out of the palm of his hand and as quick as it had appeared, it had disappeared and soon Liam was puffing on the end of his lit cigarette, inhaling his lungs with the harsh taste the smoke left lingering in his mouth.
They weren't his usual brand, he had lifted them from some guy who now laid dead on a old beaten path somewhere east of here, they smelled funny, but they would have to do. Smells, it was something Liam didn't enjoy. It was the only sense that made being a demon difficult. You see, you had the intense smells, usually coming from people. Their sweat and stuff, Liam grimaced, at this, speaking of this type of smell, he could smell something right now. A human, a very sweaty human running through the paths of the woods, unaware of his presence.

Raven had not banked on the path leading to a small lake, the path around it was heavily overgrown and not looking like it would be fun to try to pick her way through let alone attempt it at any kind of pace. Sighing she dragged the water bottle out of her pouch, stood by the bank and took a sip, leaning against a particularly twisted and gnarled old husk of a tree she contemplated whether to turn back, it seemed a waste to have come out so far and not get her full mileage quota but she had stupidly come out without a map.
Resigning herself to doubling back she took a moments breather and watched the water bubble gently where a few fish were feeding off insects on the surface, it was a murky mud-hole of a thing but she didn't mind too much. After a few minutes she stowed the bottle and zipped up the bag. Turning to the path she spotted...something a little way off in the trees, tilting her head as she tried to make out what it was.

Liam took another long drag of the burning cigarette which sat in between his two fingers when the girl he was following stopped at what looked to be like a water whole. Just seeing it made Liam froze, he seen danger.
With a fire demon, they like everything else have a weakness, that weakness is water, even a sprinkle of water can hurt them. Liam remembered this from when he was rebelling against his demon self, he had taken a glass of water and poured it on his hand, he had felt a searing pain and the skin on his hand had sizzled and smoked, almost as though he had thrown bacon in a hot pan.
The scar from that occassion had healed itself up of course, and the pain didn't last very long, but if him, or his brother for that fact were to be thrown into this pond, they'd be fried like two breakfast eggs.
Liam leaned himself against a large tree, keeping distance from the water whole and Raven. He kept his eyes engaged, ready to keep moving once the girl was ready. His plans for her, he didn't know yet. Maybe he'd give her one of the hardest workouts she'd ever had though.

Unable to make out exactly what it was from her vantage point Raven ventured a little closer, the figure in the trees spun around and she caught her breath when she realized it was an animal, it was much more scared of her than she was of it. Breathing a sigh she watched it scamper off to what it must have considered safety. Running her findertips through her sweat-damp hair Raven realised she wasn't alone, standing downwind of someone smoking she caught the faint scent of it in the air.
Wondering if whoever it was had seen her or indeed had been watching her this entire time she scanned the trees for any sign of them. Braving a few steps towards the smell she lowered her centre of gravity accordingly, ready to strike if set upon. Stowing the little player and tugging the blade from her bag without looking away from the treeline, she gripped the handle like a lifeline, wielding it edge out against her forearm. After several minutes she braved calling out "I know you're there watching me you sick bastard, show yourself"
