On The Prowl

[Lena Moore]

Lena stared up at through the trees at the moon. It was near full and being what she was, she would need to feed soon. She had been watching the forest path for some time and was getting rather bored with the fact that not one soul was walking there. Shaking her head, she sat on a rock under one of the great trees. She certainly looked out of place, she was in a red spaghetti strap tank top, black jeans and knee high boots. She looked more like she should be in some club rather than the woods, she didn't care, Lena knew that eventually someone would show up, even if it took the entire night of waiting.

Lena sighed, it was boring waiting for someone to show up. Shrugging she decided to sharpen her knives, which she pulled from her boot, along with the stone to sharpen them. She knew that she would look out of place, but she didn't care. The forest was full of demons but they were all avoiding her. It must of looked strange the demons were thick yet for about 30 meters in any direction they avoided her. She smiled at that fact, knowing that they must of picked up on what she was.

Lena shrugged and continued sharpening the blades, humming a bright cheerful tune while she did so.

[Skyler]

Skyler crept through the woods, feeling a bit foul trimmed. The bat winged mark the demon from the graveyard from a few nights ago still stung. He felt as though he was tainted by it, that not only was he beaten by her, but also was made a fool of. Skyler's scowl deepened as he walked, his mindset made him more determined though, he wanted more than anything to catch himself something, the need to prove himself was almost driving him insane.

Skyler continued walking, it was helping his mood, at least keeping him calm for the time being, but he stopped dead in his tracks as a cold chill ran down his spine. He could sense something, he was not alone in these woods tonight, his confirmation being a humming sound. A female's hum.

Skyler looked around him, trying to focus on it, to find where it was coming from. He followed the hum, the moon providing enough light so that he didn't trip and fall on his venture and he stopped right in front of the cause of the noise. A girl, who Skyler thought looked extremly out of place at the moment. Maybe she was lost? Skyler thought as he took a step forward, carefully so that he would make as little noise as possible for fear of drawing attention.

His eyes scanned the silohette of the woman who made her seat on a rock, he tried to make out what she was doing, and seen in her hands a knife, thus making Skyler all the more cautious as he noted this. He was unsure how to take this, so he thought he would go and just poke around and see what the girl before him was doing.

Lena grinned she could feel the male watching her. Perhaps she was in luck. Maybe this man would be foolish enough to walk up to her. Then again maybe he wouldn't. Lena didn't dare stop what she was doing, she had sensed him indeed, but she figured she could play the innocent girl for a while, it might do some good. Setting the knife down and went to work on the second, smiling as she watched the moonlit sky and the clouds that moved across the sky. It was a lovely night, though a bit chilly. Lena shivered as a cool breeze blew through the forest.

Finishing the job she was working on, she began playing with her hair, watching the sky and waiting for the man to step closer. She didn't know what it would bring about but she didn't much care. To any who didn't know what she was, it would seem like she was naive, sitting there with only two knives in a forest full of demons that would likely have no trouble killing a young woman. Lena grinned and looked around her at the demons in the woods. She was curious what this man was like, and where exactly he was watching her from.

[Skyler]

Skyler, slightly agitated with himself and his own cautiouness took a deep breath and a careful step forward towards the young woman who was sitting on a rock. Thus pushing the brush surrounding him away as he did so. He was in view now, and strangely slightly self conciouss of the mark caused by the demon in the graveyard from just the other night.

"Hello there," He greeted, not knowing what to say, it wasn't everyday that you meet up with a girl, dressed like she belonged in a fashion magazine, in the middle of the woods. He wondered what she could be doing out here all alone, she looked harmless enough, although she was sitting there sharpening knives.

He looked up at her, his hazel eyes full of questions as he locked onto her. Like for instance a name.

Lena grinned, "Hello there." she said softly. Her skin was pale in the moonlight and her bright blue eyes seemed almost haunting, eerie like they were hiding many dark secrets. She couldn't help but smile as she moved her wavy hair from her face. She watched the man and smiled brightly, almost too cheerfully. "What are you doing out here? It's awfully dangerous." she said softly.

Lena put her knives away and stretched, letting the man get a good view of her body, "Well come on, don't be shy, the demons are avoiding this place, so it's safe, and I don't bite." she said coyly. "So if you want to ask a question, just ask it darling."

[Skyler]

Skyler inched closer and took in some of the features of the woman standing before him. Her eyes were the most peculiar set of blue he had ever seen, they captivated him, but not as badly as the rest of her well shaped body had him gawking.

Her voice had him coming out of his almost trance like state, " What brings you out here tonight?" He asked, almost shying in her presence. Something that was unnatural for the usually outspoken attitude he usually had. " I mean no disrespect in asking, it's just unusual to find a pretty girl out here in the middle of the forest and all. You know." His face reddened, he realized how stupid he had sounded asking the question, however could not help it, there was something about her that made him feel like a child around a stranger, he didn't know how to act, or what to say around her.

Lena giggled softly and looked at him, "I fell asleep this afternoon, and I guess I slept the day away." she said, lying. She looked the man over, and patted the spot beside, "I don't really have the proper weapons to fight the demons to get out of the woods." she added. He seemed to be incredibly shy around her, but that was not uncommon, she was very used to it. She had not met a man who did not become shy around her, let alone one who did not gawk.

She grinned, "Like what you see?" she asked, "My name is Lena, yours?" she asked. She was curious as to where this would this would lead. She shivered slightly, to anyone it would appear that she was cold, but her body had just send a shiver through her to remind her that she needed to feed soon. She would either have to kill a demon, or use this man, but she did have another night or two before she would have no choice. Lena rubbed her arms to try and take the goosebumps away.

He laughed when she told him she had fallen asleep, it was a happy laugh, it sounded foreign to him to have met this girl for only a few minutes and already he was beginning to feel better about his day. He ran his hand over the spot on his cheek where the demon in the graveyard had scorned him, it didn't feel all that bad anymore.

" Yeah, it can get pretty relaxing out here in the forest." his eyes lingered on her face for a moment, she had asked him if he like what he saw and he didn't know how to answer, of course he like what he saw. Her seemingly toned body, topped with long wavy hair and the innocence of a china doll his mother had up on her shelf. He didn't know how to answer without sounding like a desparate hound dog, instead he nodded to answer her question.

She looked cold sitting there running her dainty hands over her arms. He smiled at her and pulled off his jacket. " Here ya go." He said to her, wrapping the long coat around her slender shoulders. He suddenly wondered if all women had this same type of power over men.

Lena giggled again and held the coat tightly around her. It wouldn't hurt to play the innocent. Men seemed more willing to get close to a girl who seems naive and innocent. That is exactly what she wanted. She wanted this man to get close enough to her to feel comfortable. She would strike then, when he was comfortable around her. It was getting close to that, but as always it would take time. She was only a half demon, half succubus. Were Lena to be a full one, all it would take would be one discreet look and any man would drop to his knees and beg for her. Since she wasn't it took time, but she was very skilled now.

Lena looked at the man and smiled, "What happened to you cheek?" she asked, moving nearer to him and running a dainty finger across his cheek. Once again, she shivered, this was a shiver of pure delight. "Oh, by the way, my name is Lena." she said softly, smiling at him. Lena stared at the moon and then at the surrounding forest. She was tired, this era made it so much more difficult to feed constantly. People noticed when someone died, they also noticed if you were the last person to be with said corpse.

Lena blinked and shook her head, trying to stay awake.

[Skyler]

Skyler blushed in embaressment at Lena's question about the mark on his face, this wasn't exactly something he wanted to brag about to a beautiful woman, but he sighed and told his story anyway. " Well, I decided to take on a demon." He started, " She was tough, a pure blood I believe, things didn't go well and I...." His voice fell silent. How does one admit complete and utter defeat to another. That was exactly what had happened that night in the graveyard, he was defeated in combat, something he refused to let happen again the next time he met that particular demon.

He looked up cautiously into Lena's eyes, if he seen a chuckle there he would be sure to look away again, the embaressment of the loss was enough for him, he didn't want everyone to know him as being no good at what he didn. Least of all this very seductive looking woman.

Lena felt sad for him, a man being defeated by a female demon, but some of those full blooded demons could be very dangerous. She would never laugh at anyone who dared to challenge a full blooded demon, "How brave, taking on a full blooded demon like that." she said, kissing his cheek where the mark was. This man seemed different than the rest of the ones she normally preyed on, perhaps he was.

Lena smiled at him, "You should be rewarded for being able to survive a battle with a full blooded demon." she said, "Is there a name by which I might call you?" she asked him, wrapping his jacket around her tighter again. She didn't like the energy that she was picking up in the woods, she had the feeling that it was time to leave the woods, but she was safe for now, the demons had been avoiding her, and with any luck she wouldn't get to weak.
