His words once again went ignored as she went in for the attack. The only value in his words were merely to sway her resolve, something that she would not do anytime soon. Try as he might he would have to do a lot more than just talk to change her mind now. Her second attack hit its mark he was finally starting to slow down which meant she had a chance. Akeelah noticed the change in his eyes this time when he looked at her. There was still that hint of amusement in there but now he looked more serious, play time was over now.
Akeelah chose not to wait for his next move and decided to jump in again. The faster she could bring him down the better. The wounds he suffered would heal quickly if she didn’t do anything. She charged after him again, not seeing the fireball he summoned until it was too late. There was no time to dodge the attack and in a panic Akeelah drew her arms out to protect herself, taking the full force of the attack on her arms. She screamed as her sleeves caught fire and she tore off her hoodie in a panic before the fire could spread. She swore as she threw the thing away from her. Luckily for her she was able to react fast enough before it could get any worse. She did get burned but her clothing took most of the damage, had she not wore the thing tonight the physical damage would have been a lot worse. She wouldn’t be so lucky the second time with only a t-shirt, the sleeves weren’t nearly as long and she didn’t have anything else underneath so she could just discard it like the last time.
She picked up her dropped weapon and sent another glare her opponent’s way; no doubt the jerk had enjoyed that little spectacle. It wasn’t too bad though, in the end his little magic trick wouldn’t stop her. It was going to make this harder but if she was expecting this to be easy she would have turned tail and ran the second he got up with her knife embedded in his chest. He was getting serious though and in its own way that was good. That meant he did see her as some kind of threat and would stop playing around with her. It also meant that now she needed to be more careful if she wanted to live tonight. Once again she went in for the attack, feinting a slash towards his torso but instead would go lower then that towards his groin in her own version of payback for the earlier embarrassment.

Liam watched as the the slender figure dodged right towards the fireball where she needed to stop to throw her arms up in the air to keep them from hitting her. Anyone else would have taken the advantage from the distraction, however the great Liam Delowski wasn't just anyone, he liked to fight with class when he was in the heat of battle, unlike his baby brother who would have used that to squeeze the life out of the woman in an instant.
Liam watched as the girl tossed the burnt sweater aside, he was surprised at how her reflexs had deflected the flame ball aside so quickly. Damn, she's quick. he thought briefly, as she reached down to pick up the dropped weapon, where she tossed in in his direction.
Liam braced himself when he seen where the knife was heading. When it was inches away he jumped to the side just giving his family jewls a narrow escape. " Playtime's over kiddo." He said, his dark eyes starting to transform, the his body temperature was beginning to rise. Any one at any close radious in the graveyard would have thought that they had wandered into a sauna it was that hot. His aura was becoming visible, he could feel it, and he could even see it flickering as the shield of flames began to surround him. He was not at his full potential yet, it was something that he had never acheived in his long life, but he was alot stronger in this form, which would definately count for something.
Liam opened his mouth. His voice grew into that of a dark demon, it was completely changed from his usual tone, " No more Mr Nice Guy." He said darkly.

To her disappointment the bastard had seen through her little trick and dodge in the nick of time. He didn’t look too pleased with her little stunt but she didn’t care, Akeelah was willing to do whatever it took to win this even if it meant fighting dirty. Class meant nothing if your life was at risk, especially to a demon. And this one certainly didn’t have one in her point of view, what person could slaughter an entire family just because of one person? It would have made sense to her if he just killed her father and left it at that but he took it too far. He didn’t deserve a fair fight. (That and a ‘fair’ fight would probably end in her failure at this rate.)
She was about to go in once more when he started to transform. Akeelah backed away slowly as the being shifted into his true form. The temperature around him started to heat up rapidly and she had to back up a bit more so she wouldn’t be overwhelmed by it. This was not good, a sliver of fear crept up in her mind. She couldn’t take him in his true form in her current strength; she was already having a tough time just dealing with him in his human if this continued she would lose. But if she gave up she couldn’t live with herself.
But if she kept this up she would die and lose any chance she could have of accomplishing her goal. Logic was fighting over her determination. Akeelah didn’t know what to do anymore, run or fight both choices didn’t look very good. Can I really run away and survive this? she wondered. There was a good chance he would chase her down and at his speed he could easily catch up to her. There was also the risk of him following her home and she rather not have a repeat of what happened when she was younger. That alone was reason enough to stay and fight.
Akeelah stood her ground and stood once again in defense. It was better not to rush in for another attack yet; instead she would go into defense and watch his movements carefully, try to quickly learn his style and uncover any signs of weakness and then use that against him. It wasn’t much but that was the best that she could do under the circumstances. “Bring it.” She said coolly, masking any hint of worry from her voice. The last thing she wanted was to show this fiend any form of weakness in case he chose to use that against her.

He heard the sound of the challange in her voice and smiled, so she still wasn't going to back down. This was a fact he was pleased by, he didn't want her to give up, he didn't want her to back down, he was enjoying this far to much. His demonic instinct was beginning to control his mind, clouding the little bit of judgement he had left.
He was being consumed by the dark clouds the demonic form came with, there was nothing left there, nothing but the strong instinct for survival and the thrill of the fight this strong young woman was giving him. Around them, a circle of flames screamed and roared suddenly, " You should have given up when you could." he told her, his lifeless eyes staring straight in her own. The flames grew taller, it was probably uneeded but this was out of his control, it would be up to the beast inside of him. His desire to keep this young opponent alive was quickly turning into a burning flame to kill.

A ring of flames rose suddenly trapping the girl with the demon in its center. Akeelah couldn’t help but feel a small sense of worry over the loss; she had just lost any chance of escaping now. Yes she did decide in the end she wouldn’t run away from this but things could change over time and there was always the chance that in the long run she would regret giving up on that chance. Akeelah forced those feelings of regret back down into the deep recesses of her mind. There was no use in crying over spilt milk, it was over and done with now her focus should be on what she could do now to make it out of this alive and not over a past opportunity.
Akeelah scoffed at him in response seemingly unfazed by his words. “Oh I am shaking in my shoes.” She teased, it wasn’t the greatest idea to agitate a powerful enemy but she needed him to make a move first. It was too risky to just jump him right now and she wanted to see what he was capable of doing. The suspense was also making her a little nervous, the longer she had to wait the more likely her resolve would waver and she couldn’t take that. “Come at me if you’re strong enough, or do you only pick on little girls that can’t defend themselves?”

Liam watched as the flames surrounding the two of them danced as they flickered in the whites of the young woman's eyes, he wondered as he watched her how much it would take to have her give up as he stood there like a lion ready to bounce and eat the deliscious meat from it's prey. She was putting on quite a show of resiliance as she spoke, with no hint of fear in her voice. Others would have been keeling over with fear at being trapped in a ring of fire with a demon, but she was taking it bravely.
He was about to test just how brave she was as he summoned more flames, intent on hitting her as he narrowed his brows while he watched the glowing balls flying every which way. He had hopes that this would frighten her, he wanted to see what would happen to her if she got scared.

There was very little time left to react as more fireballs were hurled in every direction but Akeelah moved as fast as she could. She ran forward just as he sent them at her, quickly moving to the side to avoid the one thrown straight after her and zig-zagged again to try to avoid the second one that she almost ran into. The second time around she wasn’t so lucky; the second fireball grazed her on the side and singed her. Akeelah hissed out in pain but kept moving forward. She was hoping to use the time it took for him to use his power to catch him by surprise and land another hit before he could see what happened and for that she had to be fast. If she was too slow he could pull off the same trick again and the closer she was would make it harder to dodge.
Closing the gap between them Akeelah would strike again, using all of her strength she would try to stab him again in his gut. Hoping that the force of the impact would either force him back or knock him down. Whether she was successful or not she would quickly jump back and get as far away from him as she could. The heat surrounding him was more intense the closer she got and that alone made her want to stay away from him.

Liam watched as one of his ball of flames hit the girl, now he could smell the burning where the fire had connected with her skin. He smiled at this. Still, she was still not giving up, and he tried to think of what would make a pesky human girl give up this fight, as he really wanted to keep her alive. She made this human relm that much more exciting, made it so that he had someone who he could turn to if he wanted to have a good fight.
He seen something in her eyes, something so faint, a flicker as she crept ever so closely to him. He thought the heat may be getting to her as she stood in the middle of the flaming walls. The destruction caused by his demonic power. He smiled, " Getting a bit hot in here for ya?" He asked as he noticed the smoke in coming from the burning ground below them. There was no way she'd be able to keep fighting threw that. Any normal human would start to suffocate from the smoke.

Akeelah quickly backed off and distanced herself once again from the demon. Frustration was rising once again, damn it he just wouldn’t fall! Everything that she tried had little or no effect on him. What made this worse was that he didn’t have to do much to have an effect on her. The heat alone was starting to bother her, the closer she was to him the more intense the heat was standing around him too long she just might burn up. She had some relief for now thanks to widening the gap but it wasn’t much, she was still trapped in a ring of fire and though the heat from there wasn’t as strong as the demon she was facing it was just as bothersome. The surrounding fire wasn’t the only one she had to worry about; there was that skill that he used just moments ago that she got hit by. It was hard to avoid such a massively ranged skill, she had been lucky so far but she could feel herself beginning to slow down and soon she wouldn’t be able to dodge as quickly as she needed to, and that was because of another more pressing problem. The smoke.
Smoke was filling the air rapidly from the fire surrounding them, choking out the air around them. The demon seemed unaffected by it but Akeelah was already having trouble breathing. Thanks to the excess activity and the smoke it was getting harder to breath. This was bad; if she couldn’t finish this or get away soon she would pass out or worse. Correction either way she would be dead. Like hell this bastard would let her live if she passed out in battle after this. If she was knocked out then she was easy pickings for the fiend. She needed to end this quickly but the chances now were becoming slimmer and slimmer by the second. If she had any chance in this fight at all she would just have to keep going, she couldn’t wait for him to strike again and take him out when he was vulnerable. It wasn’t a bad idea in theory but she didn’t have the time to wait, no doubt he already sensed this too and would only take advantage of that. She needed to go on the offensive. Akeelah ran in once again swinging her dagger hoping to hit him enough to make him either give up or injure him enough to take advantage of him before it was too late.

The girl was weakening, he could sense it, it wouldn't be that much longer befor the smoke or heat would either kill her or at least make her pass out. Wich one would do it, Liam did not know. However although she was in a dwindling state, she still never gave up, she was running towards him, her knife out and swining, as she tried to hit him with the sharp end of the blade, she was running on a low tank, being fueled on the desire to kill him.
He dodged her attacks again, side stepping when she first came close to him, he stepped to the side, just missing the end of the blade, he jumped around so that he was now staring at the girl's back and wrapped his arms around the young woman so that he was holding her there, bracing her arms to her side so that she wasn't able to use that knife on him.
" Give up." Liam commanded, " Give up now or else I may just have to kill you." He warned her, " You may be able to fight me, but you're not near ready to defeat me." He told her, whilst he wondered if this heat was going to be enough to stop her.

It was getting harder to keep up with him, the demon was able to side step her attack with ease. Akeelah didn’t even get the chance to try again before her opponent grabbed her from behind. If the smoke wasn’t threatening to make her pass out she could have turned around on time and do something but sadly she would never get that chance. Akeelah nearly screamed from the sudden contact. The heat had been bad enough just from being around the creature but being this close to him only made it worse. She struggled weakly in his group in a desperate attempt to escape without success. Her energy had been spent and now she was too weak to do anything. He didn’t even need to tell her to give up, despite the girl’s will to destroy him her body gave up. She growled weakly to response to his warning, like hell he was going to let her live after this, he was lying. Though why he would bother to lie now when he could just as easily dispose of her now she couldn’t say, but there was no real reason for him to keep her alive either. It was not murder people too weak to defend themselves were unable to feel such things.
“If I survive this…” she panted, her vision was fading fast. She knew that she couldn’t hold on much longer but that didn’t mean she couldn’t be defiant to the bitter end. “I won’t stop until you’re dead.” With that she finally passed out, unable to keep up the fight to remain conscious.

Liam listened to the scream, it had been a long time since he had heard a scream like that. One which was filled with utter terror, one that echoed throughout the graveyard. He could feel her weakening in the grasp of his arms, while she called out more challanging words. These ceased suddenly as the girl became nothing more than something limp in his arms.
He held her there for a moment and then lowered the girl gently onto the ground. The surrounding fire ceased, " Later." was all he said, there was nothing in reply to her challange, it would have made no use to reply to it with her now passed out. All he knew was that he was looking forward to their next meeting, she was one hell of a fighter.
